았 / 었어요 — past tense
Add 았어요 (after ㅏ/ㅗ) or 었어요 (after other vowels) to the verb stem to form the past.
친구를 만났어요.I met a friend.
영화를 봤어요.I watched a movie.
에서 — location particle
Use 에서 to mark the place where an action happens.
공원에서 산책했어요.I walked in the park.
회사에서 일했어요.I worked at the company.
